PROJECT ANANTHA OF THE GOVERNMENT IS A NEW NAME OF DISTRICT ECONOMIC
AND ENVIRONMENT DEVELOPMENT (DEED) PLAN WHICH WAS DEVISED AND
RECOMMENDED FOR IMPLEMENTATION IN JHAJJAR DISTRICT WAY BACK IN 2010

It is important to define how the conservation and/or development
efforts for protection of rich agri-biodiversity of different locales
of the the world is to be achieved. District Economic and Environment
Development (DEED) Plan was mooted as a model for that to Planning
Commission of India by Dr Jagveer Rawat in May, 2010, which was
recomended for implementation to the Chief Secretary of Hrayana on
June1, 2010 itself. This Model has given rise to PROJECT ANANTHA as it
is now being tried in ANANTHPUR district of Andhra Pradesh as the
state government of Haryana did not respond despite clearly expressed
will of the Planning Commission to implement the Model with all funds
as a pilot in Jhajjar district of the state which incidentally falls
in Lok Sabha Constituency of son of the Chief Minister. DEED Plan may
be applicable for example how primary producers of Haryana could have
benefitted if it would have utilised tools of Rice Genome for devising
tools of identification of genuine Basmati varieties as well as
similar tools of testing consignments of Indian Basmati from
biological and chemical impurities? Such things are required now by
Basmati Commodity Group (BCG) to strengthen the position of primary
producers of Basmati varieties. It is to be mentioned that The
Federation of Indian Chamber of Agriculture, Trade and Services
(FICATS) is working to launch important commodity groups in forms of
Commodity Councils under the aegis of FICATS, which would have its
branches at State and District levels, namely, State Primary
Producers' Institute (SPPI) and District Primary Producers' Institutes
(DPPI), respectively
